Tribal Member Named as Ambassador for Tribal Gaming Protection Network

Congratulations to NHBP Gaming Commission Licensing Manager and Tribal Member Amie Phillips, who was selected as an Ambassador for the Tribal Gaming Protection Network (TGPN).

Phillips accepted her new role during the sixth annual TGPN Women in Gaming Symposium in Chandler, Arizona, on May 2 and 3, 2023. She serves as an Ambassador for the next year until the annual symposium in 2024. This event provides an encouraging and supporting atmosphere where learning, networking, camaraderie and fun happen, all centered around the celebration of women in tribal gaming and the leadership they provide, according to its website.

Tribal Member Amie Phillips

TGPN is a 501(c)6 organization founded to provide regulatory outreach, services, and education for the Tribal Gaming industry. Its goal is to protect Tribal Entities by strengthening relationships and providing knowledge to those working in the Tribal Gaming industry.

“The appointment as an ambassador to TGPN is a testament to my skills, expertise and accomplishments,” said Phillips. “This esteemed role as an Indigenous trailblazer is a source of pride and honor for me. It entails vital responsibilities such as fostering relationships, engaging with Tribal women leaders, promoting traditions, and deepening cultural awareness.”

Phillips has many goals during her tenure as ambassador.

“As an ambassador, my primary objectives are to represent, speak, and advocate for the NHBP and the Gaming Commission in a positive and impactful manner within Tribal nations,” said Phillips.

This selection builds off Phillips’ constantly evolving leadership skills, having completed the renowned Dale Carnegie® foundational course in December 2022 at NHBP. For Phillips, her biggest takeaways from the Carnegie foundational course involved her improved public speaking skills and active listening, both of which will prove invaluable as an Ambassador for the TGPN.

Congratulations to Phillips, as she represents NHBP in this important role.
