Vitamin Cool!

Vitamin C (also called ascorbic acid) is one of the most commonly known vitamins that has many functions in our bodies. Vitamin C is found in almost all fruits and vegetables and has especially high amounts in apples, bell peppers, and citrus fruits.

Vitamin C is often held responsible for preventing colds and respiratory viruses. While this is true, it’s also a powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants help lower the stress and inflammation in our bodies. When there is lower inflammation in our body, we feel better overall!

Another cool thing about vitamin C is that it is excellent for skin health! Did you know people recovering from burns and severe wounds are prescribed extra vitamin C to help with skin healing?! That is how supportive vitamin C is for our skin and bodies.

So, this August, focus on getting that wonderful vitamin C through some delicious fruits and vegetables!
